Channel 4 | Back To Mine

‘Back To Mine’ is a six part artist live-session series presented by Vick Hope, produced by 4th Floor Creative for 4Music. Born out of the 2020 Covid-19 lockdown, the intention was to shoot something beyond the mobile phone footage format that was dominant during lockdown. The major obstacle, of course, was the lack of physical contact – with social distancing at an all time high! Episode directors Chris Chance and Ricky Allen channelled their creative genius, and remote directed these intimate moments with our artists, as they invited us into their homes for live sessions and more – with the series ultimately nominated for ‘Live Music Innovation of the Year’ at the Music Week Awards. 

Chris said: ‘Back To Mine’ was such an exciting project, and so refreshing to be a part of at the time. We filmed it during lockdown and it allowed myself and the team to stay creating during a time where a lot of the world was standing still. Directing artists remotely on how to set up cameras to record themselves was a new experience too, but I was so impressed with how each artist took it in their stride and managed to produce great work.’
