Sony Music made a grand entrance into the BRIT Awards 2024 with Mastercard, bagging an impressive 40 nominations across 13 categories. The news was revealed during the electric ‘Bring On The BRITs’ livestream show. J Hus emerged with four nominations for his much-anticipated album “Beautiful and Brutal Yard” in various categories, including ‘Artist of The Year’, Mastercard ‘Album of the Year’, ‘Song of the Year’, and ‘Hip-Hop/Grime/Rap Act’.
Calvin Harris followed with three nods in ‘Song of the Year’, ‘Dance Act’, and ‘Pop Act’. Meanwhile, Central Cee, Sony’s newest artist, was recognised with two nominations for ‘Artist of The Year’ and ‘HipHop/Grime/Rap Act’. The Song of the Year category was the most hotly contested, with seven shortlisted artists, including Rudimental/ Charlotte Plank / Vibe Chemistry, Calvin Harris / Ellie Goulding, J Hus ft Drake, Venbee / Goddard, Cassö / RAYE / D-Block Europe, Switch Disco ft Ella Henderson, and Central Cee.
Sony Music’s global stars sparkled with seven spots in the International Song of the Year category. Miley Cyrus’s ‘Flowers’, SZA’s ‘Kill Bill’, Libianca’s ‘People’, Doja Cat’s ‘Paint The Town Red’, Tate McRae’s ‘Greedy’, Tyla’s ‘Water’, and Meghan Trainor’s ‘Made You Look’ made the cut. Miley Cyrus and SZA also made the shortlist for the ‘International Artist of the Year’, while Blink-182 and Foo Fighters were named as International Group contenders.
The winners will be announced at The O2 arena on Saturday, March 2nd, with the ceremony being broadcast live on ITV1 and ITVX. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all the nominees, and we look forward to celebrating exceptional musical talent.
